Royalty's escort case: Victim's second report says issue settled

Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Mohd Isa revealed that the disabled man who claimed he was assaulted by the bodyguard of a royalty lodged another report to state that he does not want to prolong the matter.

According to him, the 46-year-old e-hailing driver filed the new report at 9.45pm last night.

“(The report) stated that the issue has been resolved amicably and he did not want to prolong the matter,” he added in a statement.

According to the new report, the incident occurred due to a misunderstanding over instructions given when moving a vehicle.

Although Rusdi did not mention the names of those involved, it is believed that he was referring to the allegation that the bodyguard of Johor regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim assaulting the man at a hotel in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

A message on the alleged incident had gone viral on social media.

This morning,  Bukit Aman CID chief Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the man had filed an initial report at 1pm yesterday on the alleged assault.

He told a press conference that no arrests had been made and that the police were investigating it under Section 323 of the Penal Code.

Section 323 involves voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a jail term which may extend to one year, or with a fine which may extend to RM2,000 or both.
