Chief inspector Azilah Hadri's counsel today alluded to the fact he has evidence that his client was 'dragged like a cow' while still handcuffed when brought to the crime scene by the police in the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial.

Hazman Ahmad ( photo ), when cross examining ASP Zulkarnain Samsudin, 34, had asked if the serious crime unit officer knew Azilah was being under the care of detective lance corporal BD Janagaran on Nov 6 last year.

Azilah and second accused corporal Sirul Azhar Umar were taken to Puncak Alam in Shah Alam to identify the secondary forest where Mongolian national Altantuya was allegedly shot twice in the head and blown up with explosives.

Hazman: Was detective lance corporal BD Janagaran with you at the crime scene?

Zulkarnain: Yes

Hazman: Do you agree that on Nov 6 last year Jana was the officer in charge of Azilah who was handcuffed and chained together and he had dragged Azilah and Sirul later using the chain?

Zulkarnain: I disagree.

Hazman: I'm putting to you that the incident where Azilah was being dragged with the chain and handcuffs was caught on video that night? They were dragged like cows in those handcuffs.

Zulkarnain: I disagree.

Hazman: Are you disagreeing because you don't know about or you didn't see it happen?

Zulkarnain: I disagree with the statement that the accused were being dragged. I am not sure about the video recording.

Hazman: You are unsure about the video recording. I'm putting to you the video was recorded on Nov 6 last year.

Zulkarnain: I'm not sure.

Hazman: I'm asking again. Don't be shocked if the recording comes out, you might be accused of hiding evidence.

Zulkarnain: I'm not sure about the video.

Hazman: You don't want to change your answer?

Zulkarnain: Yes (I don't want to change my answer).

Hazman: Did your phone have a video camera that night?

Zulkarnain: Yes.

Hazman: Did you record anything?

Zulkarnain: No.

Hazman: Did you notice other police officers or personnel recording anything with their mobile phones that night?

Zulkarnain: I did not notice.

Discrepancies in police report

During re-examination deputy public prosecutor Tun Majid Tun Hamzah ( photo ) asked the Kuala Lumpur contingent headquarters-based officer about the discrepancies found in the police report.

Zulkarnain clarified that he had corrected Sirul's house number from 5-2-4 to 5-3-7 and was told to tender his correction report in court tomorrow.

Earlier today, discrepancies were found in two police reports bearing the same reference number made by Zulkarnain and was revealed by Sirul's counsel, Kamarul Hisham Kamaruddin.

The hearing before justice Mohd Zaki Md Yasin resumes tomorrow morning.

Police officers Azilah, 31, and Sirul, 36, are charged with killing Altantuya between 10pm on Oct 19 and 1am on Oct 20 last year.

Political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda, 47, is charged with abetting them. All three face the death penalty if convicted.
