PARLIAMENT | The National Digital application or MyDigital ID and the Central Database Hub (Padu) are scheduled to be fully integrated in August.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo confirmed the matter during the Minister’s Question Time session in the Dewan Rakyat today.

“Several government applications have already been integrated under MyDigital ID. Padu and MyDigital ID are actively being integrated. We expect it to be completed in August this year,” he said when answering a question from Young Syefura Othman (Harapan-Bentong).

Discussions on integrating MyDigital ID with private parties such as Touch ‘n Go, the Employees Provident Fund, the Inland Revenue Board, and the banking sector have also started.

“Previously, MyDigital held discussions and engagement sessions with Bank Negara Malaysia and companies that provide banking systems and related stakeholders for us to boost and expand the MyDigital system in the banking and financial affairs sector,” he added.

MyDigital ID is expected to be a single platform that can be used to verify the identity of its users and log into various online services, especially government services.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Nov 21 last year announced an allocation of RM80 million for the Mimos Bhd national research centre to speed up its implementation.

MyDigital ID Sdn Bhd was designated as the vehicle to implement it in January.

The platform was launched for civil servants last year and has been open to the public since May.

Gobind said MyDigital ID registration is optional.

“MyDigital ID is not a must or mandatory for Malaysians. On the contrary, it is an option that will be integrated with various government and private agencies in the future.

“As of 5.30pm on July 10 (yesterday), 465,924 users have already registered for MyDigital ID. This number includes civil servants,” he added.
