BN candidate unfazed by PN's manifesto launch

NENGGIRI POLLS | BN’s Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani said he is unfazed by Perikatan Nasional candidate Mohd Rizwadi Ismail’s manifesto announcement tomorrow at the mid-way point of campaigning.

Instead, Azmawi said he would also be revealing his manifesto for Nenggiri, but at a later date.

“I am discussing with the leadership, we have to coordinate. I don’t want my manifesto to be just a manifesto.

“If we succeed, we have to implement (the manifesto)... (And) what we can implement is not rhetoric, young people don’t want rhetoric,” said Azmawi (above).

He said this when met after a football match between local artists and Umno Youth in Kampung Sungai Asap, Gua Musang.

Commenting on the Finance Ministry’s announcement that ATMs will be set up at Nenggiri, Azmawi welcomed the matter.

He said the decision meets an urgent need of the local community, where most of their transactions are still cash-based.

“Alhamdulillah, thanks to the party that responded to the wishes of the community in Neggiri.

“This is a necessity for the (purchasing) power of the people of Nenggiri. They need a lot of cash. It’s not like in the city.

“Rural areas use a lot of cash. ATMs are very necessary,” he said.

Earlier today, Malaysiakini reported that Nenggiri is expected to get ATM services soon.

According to the Finance Ministry, discussions with several local banks on the placement of ATMs in Nenggiri have shown “positive” results.
