Avoid firing at non-Muslims when aiming at DAP, says PAS Youth leader

PAS MUKTAMAR | Kelantan PAS Youth vice-chief Mohd Firdaus Nawi has warned delegates to be more careful when aiming at DAP.

He said spraying bullets risks hurting non-Muslims whom PAS wants to preach to.

"Don't fire buckshot to the point that our non-Muslim targets for dakwah (preaching) feel that we are also targeting them," he said at the PAS Youth muktamar in Temerloh, Pahang today.

"Theirs (DAP) are evil tongues that make statements to disrupt harmony between the races.

"Make sure, my comrades, in our counter-attacks against DAP, that our Chinese and Indian friends don't become collateral damage, as many Malaysians still love peace and harmony," Firdaus (above) added.

PAS has again made it its goal to woo non-Malays to expand its influence beyond its conservative vote base.

The party often struggles with criticism and the perception that its policies and stances infringe on non-Malay and non-Muslim rights.

Earlier at the PAS Youth muktamar, wing chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden urged delegates to learn Mandarin and Tamil to get closer to Chinese and Indians.

Another delegate from Selangor, meanwhile, mused that PAS leaders should have more interracial marriages to secure even more non-Malay votes.
