Children may have learned sodomy on their own, claims GISBH official

A Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holdings (GISBH) official has reportedly denied allegations that he or other company officials had coached children to perform sodomy.

According to a report by the Malay Mail today, the company’s chief coordination officer Adib Attamimi said it is unreasonable to believe that he would personally instruct children at the company’s welfare homes to perform sodomy.

Instead, he suggested the children may have learned sodomy on their own.

“I’m sorry to say but this sodomy culture is all over the world, it has happened a lot in the world. Even in Malaysia, our own country, this thing has become rampant.

“It’s not easy to prevent it. It can come from many sources, from handphones, observing friends, observing in school, from balik kampung, from meeting people on the roadside, right? It can be from anywhere,” he was quoted as saying.

Adib reportedly said this in a video that has been posted online.

According to the report, Adib added that children were given to experimentation, which was difficult to prevent and did not need any specific instructions or encouragement.

Conflicting statement

He expressed dismay at what he claimed to be a campaign to portray the welfare centres linked to GISBH as dens of sodomy and debauchery.

His statement appears to be at odds with the company’s claim that it does not operate the welfare homes involved.

Police raided 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan linked to GISBH on Sept 11, following a report about a week earlier alleging child abandonment, sexual assault and harassment of children under their care.

It was initially reported that 402 children were rescued, but police have since revised the number down to 392.

According to Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain, 13 of the children - all teenagers - are believed to be victims of sodomy. This is after screening 172 of the children as possible sexual exploitation victims.

Razarudin had claimed that the children had been sodomised by their guardians and were trained to sodomise each other.
