Academic Ahmad Atory passes away

Prof Ahmad Atory Hussain, a former lecturer at the School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) died at the age of 73 today.

His daughter Nurul Ainun shared news of his passing on Facebook.

“This is to inform my father, Prof Dr Ahmad Atory Hussain, has returned to his Creator at 6.37am, Sept 30, 2024, 26 Rabiulawal 1446, in the ICU ward of Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara.

“May my father’s soul be blessed and placed among the devoted,” she said.

Atory, a well-known political analyst in the country, served at USM as a lecturer for seven years, from 2008 to 2015.
