Budget 2025 doesn't discriminate against any community - Ramanan

BUDGET 2025 | Budget 2025 is for all Malaysians, with no community left out, said Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister R Ramanan.

He lashed out at certain parties for claiming that the Indian community felt marginalised after being allocated RM130 million in the latest budget the prime minister tabled last Friday.

“For the Indian community, the prime minister has said it so many times… not to divide (allocations according to communities).

“(Certain parties) say only RM130 million has been given to the Indian community, does this mean the allocation provided for health is not for the Indian community? That Indians won’t get it?

“Is that what they mean? RM64 billion for the Education Ministry... is education specifically for national schools or Chinese schools? No, (the allocation) is for all (communities),” he told a media conference after handing over a mock cheque for the Brief-i Financing programme in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Ramanan (above) reminded the Indian community not to be influenced by allegations from irresponsible parties and urged those who made the claims to examine the budget properly before issuing statements.

It was reported yesterday that the leader of an opposition party had questioned whether the RM130 million allocated to the Indian community could empower and help raise their socio-economic status.
