Iran has condemned Israel’s attacks on several military sites, calling them a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly its prohibition on threats or use of force against a nation’s sovereignty.
Taking to X, the Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasised that based on its inherent right to self-defence as reflected in Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran considers itself entitled and obligated to respond to external aggression.
“Iran stresses the use of all material and spiritual capabilities of the Iranian nation to defend its vital security interests, while also being cognisant of its responsibilities for regional peace and security,” read the statement.
The Islamic Republic underscored the collective responsibility of regional nations to maintain peace and stability, expressing gratitude to those peace-loving countries that have condemned Israel's actions and denounced its warmongering stance.
“Undoubtedly, the continuation of the occupation, illegal actions, and crimes by the Zionist regime in the region, particularly the genocide against the Palestinian people and aggression against Lebanon, remains the main cause of tension and insecurity in the region.
“These actions are perpetuated by comprehensive military and political support from the US and certain other Western countries,” it added.
Furthermore, Iran emphasises the urgent need for all UN member states, as well as those of the Genocide Convention and the Four Geneva Conventions, to take collective action against gross violations of international law, the UN Charter, the Genocide Convention, and humanitarian law, which undermine international peace and security.
It stresses the necessity for immediate global mobilisation to halt the Israeli regime's actions against Gaza and Lebanon, and to curb its warmongering.

If Israel wanted peace, maybe next time don’t bomb Iran’s consulate in Iran. It’s Netanyahu and evidently many of his genocidal fans are on Malaysiakini who are to be blamed for escalating dangerous situations in the region.
