What exactly is speaker worried about - Machang MP on Dewan ban
Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, who is suspended from Parliament, today raised further questions over Dewan Rakyat speaker Johari Abdul’s decision to ban him from sitting in the lower house’s public gallery.
Speaking to reporters, Wan Fayhsal cited Johari’s ruling earlier this morning that he cannot be inside the house as it can “cause a lot of problems”.
“I don’t understand the speaker’s argument. What exactly is he worried about with my presence in the Dewan Rakyat as a mere observer who cannot even say a word?
“Could it cause problems to the house, or him personally?
“Could it cause problems to the house, or him personally?” the Bersatu lawmaker asked.
“Where is the relevance of this argument? Am I carrying a disease? Am I interrupting the proceedings? Or do I have “Reiatsu” or spiritual pressure like in the anime “Bleach”?
“Ichigo versus Kenpachi, the person being stared at felt weak, their knees trembling... Do I exert such “spiritual pressure” on the speaker,” he said.
Wan Fayhsal argued that he poses a greater “threat" when speaking in press conferences at Parliament, rather than being allowed to silently sit in the Dewan Rakyat’s public gallery along with other visitors.

In describing Johari’s decision as regressive and far from being a reformist, Wan Fayhsal also reiterated a precedent set in 2018 when then-Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang was suspended for six months but attended the sitting from the public gallery.
Earlier in the Dewan Rakyat, Perikatan Nasional chief whip Takiyuddin Hassan stood up to question Johari’s response to Wan Fayhsal in a letter dated Oct 15, in which he underscored his decision with regard to the former Bersatu Youth chief’s six-month suspension effective July 18.
