Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor has called on Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) component parties to step up efforts to combat lies, which he claimed are aimed at toppling the state government.

This comes amid a corruption scandal implicating Hajiji and other representatives in the state government.

“There is another challenge which really tests our resilience. The opposition and their allies are colluding to bring down the GRS-Harapan Plus government by spreading slander.

“We must fight it all out as it can poison the people’s minds and instil hate against the government,” he was quoted as saying by The Star.

He was speaking at the launch of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) annual general meeting in Kota Kinabalu earlier today.

After Hajiji’s speech, Malaysiakini published an article in which former Sabah Mineral Management (SMM) chief executive officer Jontih Enggihon claimed to possess evidence to substantiate his allegation of abuse of power by Hajiji.

Jontih had previously claimed that Hajiji interfered in the selection of mineral mining licence recipients.

Meanwhile, a whistleblower has been releasing videos incriminating GRS assemblypersons, including Deputy Chief Minister Shahelmey Yahya.
