Musa Aman returned to the state capital today after attending a ceremony to appoint him Sabah governor at Istana Negara yesterday.

He arrived at Terminal 2 of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) in an aircraft at 12.02pm and was greeted by Sabah Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif.

Also present were state Rural Development Minister Jahid Jahim, state Assistant Works Minister Robert Tawik, state Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister James Ratib, as well as state Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Christina Liew.

Several other assemblypersons were also part of the welcoming party.

Musa also mingled with the public who had gathered at Terminal 2 of KKIA, which is located in Tanjung Aru, to welcome and congratulate him.

Earlier, Terminal 2 was filled with media personnel waiting to photograph Musa and get the latest information regarding the former Sabah chief minister.

Yesterday, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar presented Musa with the instrument of appointment in a ceremony at Balairung Kecil, Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur.

The 73-year-old’s term will begin on Jan 1 next year until Dec 31, 2028.

He will replace Juhar Mahiruddin whose term expires on Dec 31.
