However, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) Azalina Othman Said shared that in both cases, prosecutors had sent the investigation papers back to the graftbuster for further action.
"The MACC is in the midst of carrying out the orders for further action," Azalina said in separate written replies on the two cases yesterday.
Oscar Ling (Harapan-Sibu) and Shafie Apdal (Warisan-Semporna) had asked about the Sabah scandal, while Wong Chen (Harapan-Subang) had asked about the safe house case.
The Sabah scandal involves a whistleblower's exposé that multiple Sabah assemblypersons had allegedly taken bribes from him.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki had said that the video evidence - as published by Malaysiakini - is inadmissible due to it being edited.
In the safe house case, it involved a raid on an apartment in Kuala Lumpur last October.
MACC sources at the time told Malaysiakini that a businessperson rented the apartment unit to keep money for the politician.
The anti-graft agency had seized about S$1.5 million in cash during the raid.
The case is reportedly related to an MACC probe into a multi-million ringgit bribery scandal concerning a sand mining concession under a subsidiary of Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated.
