Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Razarudin Husain today issued a warning against any efforts to revive the communist ideology in Malaysia.

He said that communism is against the principles of the Rukun Negara and can threaten the country’s security and sovereignty.

“Malaysia has firmly rejected the communist ideology since 1948, and any form of promotion or glorification of this ideology can be classified as a threat to public order and national unity,” he said in a statement.

He was referring to a two-minute 57-second video clip about an NGO dubbed “Persatuan Promosi Penyatuan Secara Aman Satu China di Malaysia” (Malaysian Association for Promotion of the Peaceful Reunification of China).

Earlier, former Dewan Negara president Rais Yatim reportedly lodged a police report against the pro-China reunification group.

According to PAS’ mouthpiece Harakah Daily, Rais urged the police to investigate the group and its activities.

Online searches indicate that the NGO adheres to the “One China” principle and actively participates in efforts to promote peaceful cross-strait relations between China and Taiwan while opposing third-party interference.

The association is reportedly led by businessperson Koo Yuen Kim.

The video referred to by Rais is a Malay-language summary based on a longer Chinese-language video, both of which are produced by the same online content creator.

In the original video published on March 20, which lasts 11 minutes and 31 seconds, the content creator questioned if the group is properly registered and whether they were funded by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
