Revoke 'traitor' PAS' citizenship for botched flag, says ex-S'gor exco
Former Selangor executive councillor Teng Chang Khim has described PAS as a “traitor” and should have its “citizenship revoked”, following the party’s gaffe in a logo featuring a defective Jalur Gemilang.
“PAS is a traitor. (They) don’t even recognise the flag.
“(They) should have their citizenship revoked.
Summary
Former Selangor exco Teng Chang Khim calls PAS a “traitor” over its flawed Jalur Gemilang logo, saying its citizenship should be revoked, echoing PAS’ past hardline responses to similar mistakes.
PAS had earlier demanded action against others for similar errors but has since apologised for what it described as a ‘technical error’ in its rally promotional material.
Shameful, unforgivable,” he said in a Facebook post last night.
The statement echoes of PAS’ hardline stance against similar incidents in the past, before its own mistake in a logo disseminated late last week.
The logo for the upcoming “Himpunan Teguh Memimpin Terengganu” rally featured a Jalur Gemilang on the left, but it has only an 11-point star and 12 alternating red and white stripes.

It apologised on Sunday for what it described as a “technical error” and issued a corrected logo with the 14-point star and the 14 alternating stripes.
The incident is the latest in a series of mistakes involving the Jalur Gemilang, which has affected Sin Chew Daily, an electronic billboard in Bukit Bintang, an exhibitor at a baby products expo, and the Education Ministry.
Where’s the logic?
PAS was among those who were vocal in calling for stern action to be taken against such incidents.
PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden had demanded legal action to be taken against Sin Chew Daily, despite the daily’s apology for what it also claimed to be a “technical error”.
“This is a form of treachery and cannot be forgiven,” he said in a statement on April 16.
Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Nor, who is also from PAS, had claimed that the series of apparent flag “mistakes” were in fact orchestrated by DAP to sow racial discord.
Previously, in the wake of the Education Ministry’s mistake in publishing the defective Jalur Gemilang in its SPM Analysis Report, Teng had taken a jab at the government and certain “patriots” and their high-handed response to Sin Chew’s gaffe earlier.
“By the standards of the state and certain patriots, we should also demand that the head of the ministry be suspended from her post, and the prime minister must reaffirm that this is a serious matter to be handled in accordance with the law,” he said on April 24.
By that logic, he said, police must arrest the education minister and also summon 40 witnesses for questioning, while those who protested outside Sin Chew Daily’s office should now go outside the ministry to demand its closure.
“And all those ministers who declared lofty patriotic rhetoric should speak up to reprimand the ministry,” he added.
Hear, hear. "Karma is a bitch." What evil motives one have are bound to bite you back. What a poetic justice :some may even say god work in a mysterious way to expose hypocrites. There are many in politics, even the 'political' religious ones.
