  • The PKR Women chief supports Nurul Izzah for the party deputy presidency, pointing out that the latter had dedicated her whole life to the PKR struggle.

  • Fadhlina says no one should dispute Nurul Izzah’s credibility as the latter was part of PKR’s trials and tribulations.

As the contest for PKR deputy presidency rages on, PKR Women chief Fadhlina Sidek has expressed her backing for Nurul Izzah Anwar, referring to her as “PKR’s admiral of peace”.

“Nurul Izzah is Nurul Izzah… PKR’s admiral who brings the voice of peace to all,” the education minister said on Facebook today.

After much speculation and many calls from supporters for Nurul Izzah to contest the party’s number two post, her running was confirmed when she officially filed her nomination to challenge incumbent Rafizi Ramli.

Since then, many PKR leaders have voiced support for her, including PKR vice-president candidate Amirudin Shari and, surprisingly, Rafizi himself.

Mature, dedicated leader

Further extolling Nurul Izzah, Fadhlina (above, left) said PKR members know her very well and are aware of her ability to come up with powerful clarion calls.

She added that no one should dispute Nurul Izzah’s credibility, given that the latter also played a part in forming PKR and was part of its trials and tribulations.

“She neither rested nor disappeared. Her whole life is dedicated to the struggle.

“And her calls for peace reflect her maturity in wanting to steer the party to a better place,” the Nibong Tebal MP remarked.
