Summary
Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi tells Nurul Izzah Anwar not to be too dramatic or hypocritical about Rafizi Ramli’s departure.
He challenges PKR number two to outline the former economy minister’s meaningful contributions.
Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi has taken a swipe at newly minted PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar, urging her to bring an end to the "political drama" surrounding her ousting of former number two Rafizi Ramli.
Referring to Nurul Izzah’s glowing tribute to Rafizi following his resignation as economy minister where she vowed to carry forward his ideas and policies, Puad posed a pointed question: “What exactly are Rafizi's brilliant ideas that benefit the people?”
“Padu (central database hub)? Lowering car prices?” he added.
Emphasising that Nurul Izzah needs to be more specific, Puad urged her to give one clear example of Rafizi’s vision in governance and economic justice, which has shifted the national discourse.

“Don’t be hypocritical… There’s no need to pretend that Rafizi is so great. Cut the political drama. Just say that Rafizi is no longer needed, which is why you challenged him.
“Tell the president (PKR president, prime minister and Nurul Izzah’s father Anwar Ibrahim) to replace Rafizi and Nik Nazmi (Nik Ahmad) immediately. Replace them with better people. Move forward and move fast,” he added.
Apart from Rafizi, Nik Nazmi had also resigned as the natural resources and environmental sustainability minister after failing to retain his PKR vice-president post.
Following his resignation, Nurul Izzah hailed him as fearless when it came to speaking truth to power.
She credited him with introducing ideas and principles that reshaped Malaysia’s political discourse, particularly in areas of good governance, transparency, and economic justice.
“His ideas will not be forgotten. Instead, they will be continued, refined, and implemented - not because they came from him or me, but because they are good for Malaysia,” she added.
