Summary
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says he would like to have Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad rejoin the cabinet.
He also urges PKR’s rank-and-file to close ranks following the recently concluded party polls.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he would like to have former ministers Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad rejoin the cabinet.
While the duo tendered their resignations and applied for leave, Anwar said he merely approved the leave to allow them time to reconsider their decisions.
“... Let them think about it. Personally, I would prefer that they rejoin the cabinet,” Bernama reported him as saying today.
Anwar, who is the PKR president, said this after attending an organisational empowerment seminar and a closed-door meeting with PKR leaders today.

Also present were two PKR vice-presidents - Amirudin Shari and R Ramanan, party secretary-general Fuziah Salleh, PKR Women chief Fadhlina Sidek, PKR Youth chief Kamil Abdul Munim, and Hang Tuah Jaya division chief Shamsul Iskandar Akin.
On May 28, Rafizi and Nik Nazmi resigned as ministers after both got trounced during the PKR polls.
Rafizi took leave until June 16, while Nik Nazmi’s leave is until July 3.
Close ranks
During the seminar, Anwar called on PKR members to heal internal rifts and put aside dissatisfaction following the party polls last month.
He also stressed the need for unity and maturity for the party’s greater mission.
“Imagine this - I can work with Umno, even hugging it out. Surely, we can move past our internal disagreements, too.
“Let’s move on to the bigger agenda,” he added.
Anwar never calculated the damage PKR will face if he backs Nurul to replace Rafizi as the Deputy President. Now that he is feeling the heat, not only internally within PKR, but also extenally from the supporters of PKR during the last elections. Thirdly he knows that Eafizi is not going to take this lost, laying down but he already have made plans for his future. Fourthly he have lost his main organizer and strategist that was responsible for the many victories in the last elections. Also who worked so hard behind the scene to make sure PKR win so many seats. PKR will surely face the brunt of the public's anger in the next elections. Anwar knows that due to this cunning move, his future is sealed. Rafizi and Nik Nazmi would never return to serve in the Cabinet, as it would go against the very principles they are fighting for. As far as Anwar is concerned, it clearly shows that he have no principles. So drean on Anwar, that you will get a second term to be the PM. Like TDM you will be rejected by the very people who voted for you.
