Summary
Daim Zainuddin’s widow lodges a report with the IPCC over the force's alleged failure to probe Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Na'imah Abdul Khalid says it has been nine months since she reported Anwar's alleged abuse of power to police but has received no update.
She takes a jab at MACC chief Azam Baki's purported "extraordinary courage".
Former finance minister Daim Zainuddin’s widow has urged the Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC) to probe the force over its alleged inaction on her complaint against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Na'imah Abdul Khalid said that she went to the police last year to report Anwar for allegedly abusing his power by instructing the MACC to investigate Daim, former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and Mahathir's sons.
This came after Bloomberg’s report on Sept 26 last year detailing claims of political interference in the graftbuster's operations.
The article also cited sources claiming that Anwar had ordered MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki not to investigate Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak over the latter’s purchase of shares in HeiTech Padu Bhd.
"However, until this day, it has been nine months since (I lodged the report), no investigation has been done. I don't even know who the investigating officer is.
"My lawyers have also called and wrote letters (to the police) seeking updates on the case, but no response.
"So today I lodged a report with the IPCC so it can bravely investigate the police for not looking into my report," she told reporters outside the IPCC headquarters in Putrajaya.

Expressing her disappointment, Na'imah said she was puzzled why police had not initiated a probe against Anwar as Bloomberg had also named the prime minister in its article.
‘Azam dares to only go after ex-PM, the dead’
Na'imah also trained her gun at Azam, who recently received praise from Anwar for having "extraordinary courage" in tackling high-level corruption.
She said there is nothing brave in Azam's work as he only dares to investigate those no longer in office or even this world.

"The ones I know who have real courage were (officers) like (former inspector-general of police) Musa Hassan, who investigated a serving deputy prime minister, and Abu Kassim Mohamed, who investigated a serving prime minister when he was the MACC (chief).
"Another person was Abdul Gani Patail when he was the attorney-general. All these people opened investigations against a serving prime minister, not merely a former prime minister or someone who is already dead.
"In this case (Na'imah report), I want to know who has the courage to investigate the PM?"
