Rapid Rail: Kelana Jaya LRT line resumes after trespass incident

Rapid Rail announced that LRT service on the Kelana Jaya line has returned to normal following a trespassing incident that disrupted operations this morning.

On the Rapid KL Facebook page, it said a commuter had trespassed onto the tracks at the Subang Alam station at 8.02am.

“Emergency response teams comprising personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department and the police were deployed to the incident location immediately, upon receiving reports from the Rapid Rail operations team.

“The victim was successfully rescued, but sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang Hospital for further treatment,” Rapid Rail added.

The company said the police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident and that it will fully cooperate with the probe.

“Any latest developments regarding operations will be announced through Rapid KL’s social media pages and station announcements.

“Rapid Rail apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates passengers’ patience and cooperation,” it said.

Separately, Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed the incident and identified the victim as a 27-year-old Malaysian man.

“Further investigations based on witness statements and closed-circuit television recordings found that the victim had deliberately trespassed on the LRT tracks,” he said.
