Sabah polls: Harapan respects BN not wanting to work with GRS - Anwar

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Pakatan Harapan respects the decision of BN not to work with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the 17th Sabah state election.

Anwar, who is the Harapan chairperson, said his coalition was not caught in the middle by the decision and would continue discussions to find a solution.

“Harapan will also continue to discuss with BN and GRS. We will continue to negotiate, no matter what, negotiate well and find a solution,” he told reporters after attending the Federal Territories Mufti Department’s Temu Mesra Programme in Kuala Lumpur today.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced the final decision of BN and Sabah Umno not to work with GRS in the state election.

Zahid said instead, his coalition decided to only work with Harapan in the upcoming 17th Sabah state election.

The 16th Sabah state legislative assembly will automatically dissolve on Nov 11 if not dissolved earlier, thus paving the way for the 17th state election.
