'Who spoilt you?' Wan Saiful drops audio 'proof' Hamzah real target

Wan Saiful Wan Jan has released an audio recording of Bersatu’s disciplinary board proceedings against him, as evidence backing up his claim that the true target was party deputy president Hamzah Zainudin.

The clip, circulated to the media, captures a tense start to the Oct 8 session, with members of the disciplinary board grilling the Tasek Gelugor MP over who was pulling the strings behind his actions, which they said had damaged Bersatu.

“There must be somebody who ordered you. Who spoilt (rosakan) you. You’re spoilt because you have split the party,” board chairperson Radzi Manan is heard saying.

The exchange grew heated as Wan Saiful defended himself, insisting his actions had not divided Bersatu. But Radzi stood firm, repeating that Wan Saiful was “spoilt”.

Wan Saiful then pressed whether there was a political plot behind the proceedings - a suggestion Radzi swiftly denied.

In the same recording, Radzi is also heard saying the board had summoned Hamzah and accused the deputy president of harbouring ambitions to become prime minister.

On Oct 14, Bersatu expelled Wan Saiful, while Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal was suspended for one term.

Four Bersatu division chiefs were also disciplined - Azrudin Idris (Hang Tuah Jaya), Faizal Asmar (Pengerang), Fadhli Ismail (Ipoh Timur), and Isa Saidi (Ampang).

‘I really want to link Hamzah’

Later in the audio, Wan Saiful is heard challenging Radzi for linking Hamzah to the case.

“I called Hamzah, which means I wanted to talk to him like this. You see? I can already see that he wants to be PM,” Radzi replied.

“There are processes to become PM. He no longer seems to be with his party members - he wants to go with PAS,” he added.

Wan Saiful pushed back, saying it was unfair to drag Hamzah into his disciplinary case.

“I think it’s unfair to link him (Hamzah) because this is a charge against me,” he said.

Radzi, however, doubled down. “No, no, no, I really want to link him. I want to see who is responsible.”

Hamzah is reported to have declined the disciplinary board summons.

The disciplinary probe was initiated against Wan Saiful over efforts to pressure Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin to hand over the reins to Hamzah.

On Saturday, it was revealed that 16 Bersatu MPs had written to Muhyiddin, protesting the disciplinary board’s decision to summon Hamzah.
