Sabah polls: PBRS chief Arthur casts vote in Sook

Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) president Arthur Joseph Kurup, who is contesting in the 17th Sabah state election, was among the earliest candidates to cast his vote.

The deputy agriculture and food security minister and BN candidate for the Sook seat, cast his ballot at Sekolah Pekan Ansip, Sook, right after the polling centre opened at 7.30am.

Arthur is facing a five-cornered contest in the seat, which has 20,349 registered voters.

Sook is one of three state seats under the Pensiangan parliamentary constituency of which Arthur is the MP.

Meanwhile, Sabah DAP deputy chairperson Chan Foong Hin, who is also the deputy minister of plantation and commodities, voted at a polling centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bahang, Penampang, at 9.20am today.

The DAP candidate for the Tanjung Aru state seat is facing a nine-cornered contest. The constituency has 21,264 registered voters.

Meanwhile, DAP candidate for Luyang, Chan Loong Wei, cast his vote at SK Luyang at 9.40am.

The Sabah DAP Youth chief is facing a four-cornered contest in Luyang, which has 35,262 registered voters.
