Bung Moktar in critical condition

Sabah BN chief Bung Moktar Radin is understood to be currently receiving treatment at Gleneagles Hospital in Kota Kinabalu.

Sources familiar with the situation say the Lamag assemblyperson is in critical condition and is being treated for complications involving his lungs, heart, and kidneys.

Confusion briefly arose on Tuesday night when Sabah Umno issued a statement saying Bung was in stable condition, before retracting it moments later.

No clarification followed, and the family of the 66-year-old has yet to issue an official update.

However, his son Naim Kurniawan confirmed with FMT that Bung is in critical condition.

Political leaders across Sabah have been extending prayers for his recovery.

Chief Minister Hajiji Noor said he prayed for Bung’s health and for strength for his family.

“I pray that Bung is granted a swift recovery and that all aspects of his treatment are eased. May God grant him strength, perseverance, and protection, and may his family be given courage as they face this test.

“Every trial comes with its own wisdom, and God willing, he will recover and return to his usual self,” Hajiji said via Facebook.

Warisan leader Yusof Apdal has also conveyed similar wishes as leaders await further updates on Bung’s condition.
