All PAS wants for Christmas is M'sia to be protected with wisdom, sincerity

In conjunction with Christmas tomorrow, PAS reminded Malaysians that the country’s diversity is a trust that must be protected with wisdom and sincerity.
“PAS would like to wish Merry Christmas to all Christians in Malaysia. We hope that this moment can be used to strengthen our relationships, renew hope, and uphold our commitment to the culture of love among all of us.
“Though we have different religions and beliefs, we must unite in our aspirations to build a fair, safe, and a nation of integrity for all,” its secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said in a statement today.
Acknowledging that Malaysians may not agree on everything, Takiyuddin emphasised the importance of choosing to listen, understand, and uphold the rights of all Malaysians.
“As the world continues to face worsening conflicts, Malaysia must exemplify how diversity can remain steadfast and grow with maturity.
“Harmony cannot be achieved through uniformity, but PAS believes we can enjoy each other’s presence through our sincerity in appreciating and protecting everyone’s place in the country,” the Kota Bharu MP added.
No Chinese for federal territories?
Despite Takiyuddin’s latest message on unity, he recently questioned Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s decision to appoint DAP’s Hannah Yeoh as minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s Lo Su Fui as her deputy, specifically questioning their ethnicity.

“This is in addition to a DAP leader retaining the housing and local government ministry. Coincidentally, all three of them are of the same ethnicity.
“It must be emphasised that the federal territories - Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan - are not ordinary territories or portfolios. The areas represent the political and administrative heart of the nation.
“Therefore, the centralisation of strategic administration for urban areas, local governments, housing, and local authorities in the hands of leaders from a single party and ethnicity could raise unavoidable questions regarding issues of imbalance, excessive centralisation of power, and the direction of the country’s administration,” Takiyuddin added.
