• Selangor youth, sports and entrepreneurship exco Najwan Halimi has strongly condemned a social media post featuring an edited image of a pig dressed in ceremonial attire purportedly intended to insult the Selangor ruler.

  Najwan described the post as deeply offensive, disrespectful, and dangerous, adding that he personally felt insulted as a loyal son of Selangor upon seeing the image being circulated.

  

  He urged the authorities to immediately investigate the matter and take firm action against those responsible, arguing that the post amounted to an open insult against the sultan as well as an affront to the Selangor state government.

  Yesterday, Free Malaysia Today reported that Selangor exco for Islamic religious affairs Fahmi Ngah and Selangor investment, trade and mobility exco Ng Sze Han had also condemned the post, joining calls for stern action over the incident.

Corruption

• Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim said that all ongoing probes against MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki must continue even after his contract ends on May 12.

  The PKR lawmaker told Malaysiakini that the government must still bring him to justice if any misconduct is found, and the matter cannot be closed merely because he has retired.

  

  Hassan told Malaysiakini that the law must take its proper course if Malaysia is truly to uphold the “rule of law and not rule by law”.

  On Saturday, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo called on incoming MACC chief commissioner Abdul Halim Aman to narrow his focus on the “corporate mafia” saga, as well as the company shareholding scandal involving his predecessor, Azam.
