Bersatu purge

  • Continuing Bersatu’s internal crackdown, two more leaders have been sacked while three others have had their memberships suspended with immediate effect.

Parit Bersatu Youth chief Meor Naqiuddin said he and Kok Lanas assemblyperson Farid Zawawi, who is also the Kelantan state legislative deputy speaker, were informed of their sacking today via notices from disciplinary board chairperson Radzi Manan.

  • In a separate statement, Hulu Terengganu MP Rosol Wahid said he will not appeal his suspension from Bersatu, a matter he was notified of via an April 29 letter from Radzi.

He also urged the party’s disciplinary board to improve its transparency and better the separation between its investigative, prosecutorial, and decision-making functions.

Protest

  • Selangor PAS Youth announced a demonstration on May 16 to express loyalty to Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, following alleged “disrespect” by DAP and Pakatan Harapan figures.

Its chief, Sukri Omar, said the event, to be held outside the Selangor state secretariat building in Shah Alam, will include the handing over of a memorandum to Istana Bukit Kayangan.

He added that all Selangor PAS Youth divisions have been instructed to lodge police reports over “uncivilised actions” and alleged attempts to undermine the Federal Constitution and Rukun Negara principles.
