• Selangor Perikatan Nasional wants DAP assemblyperson Wong Siew Ki to apologise to Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Selangorians for allegedly causing public alarm.

  Wong had urged the Selangor government to reconsider pig farming, but was accused of treason for acting against the sultan’s February decree.

  Selangor PN chief Azmin Ali also urged Menteri Besar Aminudin Shari to take strong action against Wong by referring her to the state assembly’s rights and privileges committee.

  

  “Selangor PN stresses that this issue goes beyond partisan politics. Anyone elected as a lawmaker must understand that freedom of speech comes with responsibility; it is not an immunity that can be abused to challenge the values of decency, etiquette, and the principles of the Rukun Negara that form the foundation of national unity,” Azmin said in a statement.

• PKR vice-president Amirudin Shari said anyone who decides to leave PKR or act in ways that weaken the party must accept responsibility for their actions.

  He said this is because the party had provided opportunities for some to establish their names and attain senior positions.

  Amirudin added that although he was among the “suspects” behind the 2020 Sheraton Move, he still made the “brave and firm decision” to remain with the party, Bernama reported him saying.

  He said this in response to calls for Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail and Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung to vacate their seats after attending the Bersama launch event.

• Former Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin and his supporters have not applied to join Perikatan Nasional, according to coalition deputy chairperson Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

  “We have not discussed the matter yet, and they have not submitted any formal application to join PN,” he was quoted as saying by Free Malaysia Today.

  The Kubang Kerian MP said PN has received membership applications from four political parties and is reviewing them.

  

• Tuan Ibrahim affirmed that PN will field candidates in all 56 seats in the upcoming Johor state election.

  Noting that PN is also prepared to face Pakatan Harapan and BN in other state polls, the PAS deputy president said the coalition remains open to negotiations on candidacy with other parties to avoid clashes within the bloc.

Court

• The Perlis Sessions Court acquitted and discharged former menteri besar Shukri Ramli’s son of a charge of submitting a false claim amounting to RM19,505.10.

  Judge Nu’aman Mahmud Zuhudi ruled that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against Syafeeq, 37. He was not called to enter his defence.

  Syafeeq was accused of submitting a claim document related to a beverage supply service to the raja of Perlis at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital despite knowing it contained false particulars.

Energy crisis

• The government is monitoring supply chains and expects the impact of the ongoing global supply crisis to become more pronounced in the third quarter of 2026, said Economy Minister Akmal Nasir.

  He said that to cushion the impact, the government will continue to maintain the Budi Madani Diesel assistance of RM300 per month, alongside an additional RM100 aid for eligible recipients.

  

  He added that support for paddy farmers would continue through an RM300-per-hectare ploughing incentive.

  Akmal added that Bank Negara has also allocated RM5 billion under the SME Stabilisation Relief Facility, while improvements to the subsidised diesel control system are underway to curb leakages.
