Disaster

  • Petronas said there was an incident at its floating storage and offloading vessel near Sepat, off the coast of Terengganu, that killed three contractors and injured another.

It said the incident occurred at 12.50pm yesterday. It did not specify what the incident was.

Police later said that the workers were being lowered from the platform on a lifeboat for maintenance work when a rope or hook used to secure the vessel detached, causing the four and the boat to fall into the sea.
