Refugees

  • All 113 refugees who were temporarily housed at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters since yesterday have been moved to a location designated by an NGO known as Kaladan.

    In a message to the media, Brickfields police chief Hoo Chang Hook said all the refugees, who mostly consist of Rohingya individuals, left the police grounds at around 4pm after being placed under the Ampang-based NGO.

    Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus separately added that the oldest refugee is 60 years old while the youngest is a one-month-old infant.

  • PKR vice-president R Ramanan has dismissed former DAP MP Ong Kian Ming’s prediction that BN will secure a win over Pakatan Harapan at the Negeri Sembilan election.

    “Sometimes you go to a fortune teller, and you ask for a 4D number. The fortune teller tells 1,000 people 1,000 different numbers. The one who strikes the number will say that fortune teller is the best.

    “Just because you get one prediction right doesn’t mean you are Nostradamus,” Free Malaysia Today quoted the human resources minister as saying after an event in Senawang today.

    Ong had previously correctly projected a bleak outcome for Harapan at the Johor polls, in which BN won a landslide victory, sweeping 48 out of 56 state seats.
