• Negeri Sembilan MCA chairperson Leaw Kok Chan pressed 17 former and current Pakatan Harapan assemblypersons and two constituency coordinators to adhere to an instruction to return their advance allocations for July to September.
  
  Claiming that tomorrow marks the deadline imposed by the state government for the return of the funds worth RM3.06 million, Leaw (above) said the group should follow former menteri besar Aminuddin Harun’s decision to “settle his portion in full”.
  
  “MCA makes no allegation of misuse, but the simplest way to put the matter beyond doubt is to return the money, or to account publicly for every ringgit already spent,” Leaw said in a statement today.

Crime

• Five Malaysians believed to be recruited as drug mules were arrested at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Sept 25 with 5kg of suspected etomidate, which is a short-acting intravenous anaesthetic drug.
  
  Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director Hussein Omar Khan today said the four men, aged 21 to 30, and a 25-year-old woman had arrived on a commercial flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Gazette reported.
  
  Indonesian customs officers detained them after noticing suspicious behaviour during checks.

  

  “An inspection found that each suspect was carrying two packets of powder suspected to be etomidate, weighing approximately 500g each,” Hussein (above) said.
  
  The 10 packets were concealed beneath their shoe insoles. Three suspects were from Sarawak and two from Pahang. One had three previous drug-related criminal records, while the others had none.
