A delegation from the Malaysian Chinese Economic Consultative Council met Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to provide feedback on economic development under the 9th Malaysia Plan (9MP).

Led by MCA president Ong Ka Ting, the group briefed the premier on the Chinese Malaysian community's role during the two-hour closed-door meeting yesterday in Putrajaya.

Ong said Abdullah had explained the 9MP policies and how these will be implemented. The information will facilitate the community's participation in economic development.

While declining to reveal details of the discussion, he said the issues did not cover education issues but had been confined to the economic agenda.
