PAS seeks to mend Bersatu-Umno rift
PAS, which is on a mission to unite Malay-Muslim parties, is still hoping to mend ties between Bersatu and Umno.
Disagreeing with Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, who declared war against Umno and BN in the upcoming polls and told PAS to pick between the two parties, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said such ultimatums should not be issued.
“What is important is we have to unite. Every quarter, especially Perikatan Nasional and BN, should look at the future. The country has to be politically stable,” he added.
Tuan Ibrahim insisted that PAS will work with both Bersatu and Umno for the sake of the unity of the ummah, adding that there is still time to unite the two parties to face GE15.

King of the hill - MIC vs Umno
MIC is hoping to reclaim the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat in Pahang in the next general election.
This was the party’s traditional seat until the 2019 by-election which saw Umno emerging victorious.
Sources told Malaysiakini that Umno is not willing to give in, arguing that its candidate fared much better than those MIC fielded, including its former president G Palanivel, in the 2013 and 2018 national polls.
However, MIC is willing to let Umno remain as the king of the hill in exchange for another sure-win seat.
Sources also claimed that Umno is considering passing the Nibong Tebal seat in Penang to MIC but the latter is far from enthusiastic. This is because BN has not won this seat since the 2008 general election.

Sex education is crucial
A Sessions Court judge has underscored the importance of teaching sex education in schools, revealing how she encountered numerous victims who were not aware of being exploited or abused.
M Kunasundary, assigned to the special court for sexual crimes against children, said the situation can be attributed to the lack of awareness.
“We have children who do not know that they are sexually exploited or sexually abused.
“And this is a very sad affair that they do not know what they have undergone, what they were asked to do... that what they have conducted themselves are all part of sexual exploitation and abuse.
“(Only) later when they realised they have been sexually exploited and abused, they will be so torn apart. You can see it in their eyes,” she told a forum.
