Ambiga’s impassioned plea
Former Bersih chairperson Ambiga Sreenavasan has appealed to voters to set aside their disappointment and frustration over the fall of the Pakatan Harapan federal government due to defections.
Stressing that change takes time, she urged them to cast their ballots on Nov 19 to ensure a bright future for the nation.
She also pointed out that with the anti-hopping law, it would be “very difficult” for another Sheraton Move to happen.
“it matters what kind of government we have. It matters not just for you. It matters for your children. It matters for your grandchildren. It matters to your parents.
“So this is my message to you. All we are asking is for you not to be apathetic. Forget the apathy, forget the lethargy, forget this feeling that nothing will change.
“I assure you, every step you take in this election to cast your vote will make a difference and will bring change,” she said.

Azmin slams ‘father of traitors’ in Tambun
Azmin Ali travelled to Tambun, which his former boss-turned-nemesis Anwar Ibrahim is hoping to use as a launchpad to Putrajaya.
Citing the “Kajang Move” and “Port Dickson Move”, he described the Pakatan Harapan leader as the “father of traitors”.
Recalling how the late Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was removed as Selangor menteri besar in 2014, he said: “Is that not a traitor? Tell me. Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was in (the menteri besar) office but was booted out in a non-democratic way. That (Anwar) is the real father of traitors.”
Harapan supporters have labelled Azmin, who is now with Perikatan Nasional, as a “traitor” after the former PKR number two defected with a group of MPs aligned with him in 2020, which contributed to the fall of the Harapan federal government.

Politicians clamour to board stalled LRT
The problem-plagued Light Rail Transit (LRT) system’s latest service disruption witnessed politicians from all sides offering their views.
Former transport minister and DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke promised that if Pakatan Harapan wins the polls, it would get to the bottom of the problem.
When news broke that the trains would stop rolling, PKR’s communications director Lee Chean Chun wanted Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd's (CEO) Amir Hamdan’s head to roll.
Caretaker transport minister and MCA president Wee Ka Siong became a target when he failed to respond to the breakdown.
His DAP opponent for the Ayer Hitam seat in Johor, Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali, was among those who trained their guns on Wee.

BN candidate Khairy Jamaluddin said he had little choice but to ask to contest in Sungai Buloh because the Umno leadership did not indicate where he might be fielded.
“The fact is, I had no choice,” he said in response to Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stating Khairy chose the seat and was not dumped in the PKR stronghold.
Caretaker environment and water minister Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man’s lawyers have slapped Rafizi Ramli with a letter of demand.
Accusing the PKR deputy president of defamation for accusing his ministry of attempting to bulldoze through tenders, the PAS number two demanded that Rafizi issues a letter of undertaking that he would stop making such allegations.
The Federal Court reserved its decision over the constitutional issues linked to the MACC probe against sitting Court of Appeal judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali.
In 2020, Nazlan, then a High Court judge, sentenced former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak to 12 years in prison and slapped him with an RM210 million fine for corruption, abuse of power and money laundering.
