Six by-elections on the horizon?

The country may be facing six by-elections soon if Bersatu has its way.

The party has amended its rules to include a clause that those who go against the party's decisions are considered to have forfeited their membership.

It now plans to ask the six MPs who are now supporting Anwar Ibrahim whether that remains their stand.

If yes, then Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin argues that it would trigger the new rule and the anti-hopping law.

The Bersatu turncoats, however, plan to challenge the new rule in court.

RM1 billion for bumiputera entrepreneurs

The government will allocate RM1 billion for bumiputera entrepreneurs, which will be managed by government-linked investment companies (GLIC).

The goal is to produce a new generation of bumiputera entrepreneurs in high-growth industries.

This was one of the outcomes of the Bumiputera Economic Congress 2024.

Another outcome was to set up a Mara waqaf (endowment) fund which seeks to raise RM1 billion within two years.

Govt commits to resuming MH370 search

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to resume the search for flight MH370, as the 10-year anniversary of the disappearance approaches.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said he would be seeking cabinet approval to sign a new contract with US-based marine robotics company Ocean Infinity Ltd

Ocean Infinity had offered to not take any payment unless they could find the missing plane.
