Farhash snagged in Sabah scandal
Former PKR bigwig Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak has been caught up in the Sabah mining scandal.
MalaysiaNow reported that a mineral exploration licence had been approved for a company owned by Farhash - who was formerly Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary.
Farhash denied this, only for MalaysiaNow to come out with receipts, including a letter purportedly signed by the businessperson.
Meanwhile, the government says investigation papers into a Bloomberg report, which cited sources alleging that Anwar had ordered the MACC not to investigate Farhash’s business dealings, are now with the AGC.

Anwar challenges PN to confidence vote
Perikatan Nasional is gearing up for a major protest this Saturday (July 26) to demand Anwar's resignation as prime minister over various alleged failings, including failure to deliver reforms and improve the economy.
Anwar, in turn, has challenged PN to fight him in Parliament if they really want him to quit.
He said he would allow a no-confidence vote to take place immediately, but quipped that the opposition likely did not have the numbers.
While Pakatan Harapan MPs will most likely vote for Anwar in such a showdown, it may not necessarily reflect the sentiments of voters who elected them, which have soured over the past two years.
However, it is not likely that disenfranchised Harapan voters will show up for the PN rally either.

Mahathir too old to punish
The government is sparing Dr Mahathir Mohamad from punishment over the Batu Puteh episode.
While Anwar maintained that Mahathir was wrong to give up Malaysian sovereignty over the outcrop, the 100-year-old was too old to be punished.
Last year, an RCI looking into Batu Puteh recommended that a criminal investigation be launched against Mahathir.
The RCI accused Mahathir of deceiving the cabinet in 2018 into withdrawing Malaysia’s review of the International Court of Justice decision to award sovereignty over Batu Puteh to Singapore.
