Anwar implicated in Sabah scandal
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has been implicated in the Sabah corruption scandal.
Allegations have surfaced that Anwar reportedly told his aide, Shamsul Iskandar Akin, to go ahead with a plan for businessperson Albert Tei to secretly tape Sabah politicians talking about alleged bribes.
The claim was made by a woman, who is allegedly a proxy to Shamsul, in the latest secret recording released by Tei.
Tei had wanted to reveal the purported mastermind behind his Sabah videos, and had teamed up with Anwar’s archnemesis, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, to do so.
Meanwhile, Shamsul has also resigned as the prime minister’s political secretary in an attempt to stave off controversy.
The resignation coincided with another bombshell that accused Shamsul of taking Tei’s money.

Ruler puts pressure on Terrirudin row
Negeri Sembilan ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir voiced concerns over recent objections raised against the appointment of Ahmad Terrirudin Salleh to the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC).
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had appointed Terrirudin to the commission amid unresolved allegations of judicial interference by the former AG-turned-judge.
Three years ago - shortly after Anwar became prime minister - Tuanku Muhriz had relayed the Conference of Rulers’ wish for the JAC to be independent from the premier’s influence.
There have been no movements towards that goal.
