BN afraid of Malacca polls?
BN doesn’t appear to be ready to pull the trigger for snap polls in Malacca yet.
Chief Minister Ab Rauf Yusoh claimed that Malacca simply doesn’t require state polls so soon, despite other party leaders hinting at snap polls earlier in the year.
A lack of confidence may stem from the thrashing BN got in Malacca during the 2022 general election, when it lost in all six federal seats contested.

DAP delays deadline for ultimatum
The Johor state election has been a blessing in disguise for DAP.
The party was supposed to hold a congress in July, where it would determine whether or not DAP should remain in government positions.
However, the party is postponing the congress, saying they need to focus on elections first.
DAP may want to prove to members that it has done enough work in the last six months to not be wiped out as it did in the Sabah polls.

One Negeri, two rulers
Negeri Sembilan’s royal conundrum is even more complicated now.
The state’s rebel chieftains on Friday installed Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar as the new Yang di-Pertuan Besar during a ceremony at a hotel in Malacca.
The chieftains have also disputed the validity of the declaration to dissolve the state legislature, arguing that the state constitution requires their consent for dissolution.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, however, said that Putrajaya continues to recognise Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the state ruler.
