PAS vent their anger on Nanyang Siang Pau newspaper over a cartoon depicting PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang as a monkey during a demonstration at the daily's office in Petaling Jaya on April 11, 2017.
This is despite the daily's apology and retraction the night before.
PAS said it will take legal action against Nanyang Siang Pau.
The daily received a showcause letter from the Home Ministry, over the cartoon, which also depicted speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia as a monkey, prompting questions over media freedom in Malaysia.
The cartoon was on the tabling of amendments to Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act (Act 355).
