With the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Zoo Negara is among the hardest hit by the conditional movement control order (MCO) with sufficient emergency funds to last only three months.

The zoo’s closure under the MCO has made it difficult for it to meet operating costs which total about RM1 million per month.
