A FORMER RTM newscaster who is seeking RM4 million in damages from a "Tan Sri" for slandering her has made a number of 'startling' revelations - among them, that he had given her expensive gifts like handbags and clothes, including black, pink and red bras and underpants.
Ter Ai Chin (

), who filed the suit at the Civil High Court registry in Wisma Denmark on Sept 25 this year and served the statement of claim on the Tan Sri on Monday, claimed that those were propositions allegedly committed by the Tan Sri in an attempt to have an illicit relationship with her.
The Tan Sri is believed to be involved in the banking sector and is also the chairperson of a local rating firm.
Ai Chin, 50, refused to name the Tan Sri at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today. Bernama ran the story late this evening.
Among other things, Ai Chin alleged that the 70-year-old Tan Sri had spread news that he had slept with her in Bangkok.
She said the news was a slander when she was a branch manager of a bank at the Putra World Trade Centre and that she was already married and had two children then.
Ai Chin, who worked for the bank for 20 years from 1981, alleged that the Tan Sri had attempted to have illicit affairs with her between 1996 and 2000 after she was made branch manager.
Mental stress
She alleged that the Tan Sri had sent love letters, poems and flowers to her at the office, causing all the staff to know and humiliated her with various allegations.
She also alleged that the Tan Sri had given her expensive gifts like handbags and clothes, including black, pink and red bras and underpants every time he went overseas.
Ai Chin said she had several times asked the Tan Sri not to harass her but they went unheeded.
As she could no longer tolerate the harassment, she resigned from the bank for having mental stress to the extent that she had to seek treatment at a hospital.
She is seeking RM4 million in damages for slander, sexual harassment, lost of career and other reliefs deemed fit by the court.
Currently, Ai Chin is a commissioned trainee remisier.
