Although BN's candidate for Bukit Bintang, Frankie Gan, may be the butt of jokes on the Internet, his party president Dr Chua Soi Lek thinks the former is pretty creative.

NONE Gan's campaign had been portraying him as a 70s-era Chinese pop star.

One of his billboards lists his victory at a singing competition when he was 17 as part of his resume.

He even has a series of music videos, in various languages and complete with karaoke "minus-one" feature, on YouTube .

Met in Johor Bahru today, Chua said that he had never seen any of the music videos, but added that Gan had informed him of the unique campaign strategies beforehand.

NONE At this juncture, a reporter showed Chua one of the video clips on a mobile phone.

Chua seemed amused and remarked: "Not bad, what".

"I think they can challenge Psy. They should do Gangnam Style," he said.

Gan had told KiniTV that he had chosen the entertainment route for his campaign because voters are feeling stress because they are being told to either keep or change governments.

On a more serious note, Chua said that DAP's target of having Pakatan Rakyat winning 15 parliamentary seats in Johor was a "dream".

"I don't think it's 15. They should (target) 25 (parliamentary seats) and 55 state seats. But this is (merely) their dream at night," he said.

Johor has 26 parliamentary and 56 state seats.
