The Central Level Technical Committee, set up to study the implementation of the hudud law or Syariah Criminal Enactment II 1993 in Kelantan, will make a more valid decision that is free of political influence.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom (left) said the committee did not include politicians and upheld the regulations and implementation of the hudud law.

"The committee has already been set up and they will implement their task responsibly according to their expertise. They (committee members) understand the law and the direction that the law should be heading for," he told reporters.

He said this after the opening of the conference of imam, religious teachers and mosque committees 2014 at the Kelantan state-level at Kompleks Islam Darulnaim, Lundang today.

The conference was officially opened by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob and also attended by the director-general of the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim) Othman Mustapha.
