PAS Dewan Muslimat chief Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff did not sign the statement expressing unconditional support for Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the next Selangor menteri besar.

The statement was thought to be jointly endorsed by Siti Zailah as well as the women's wing heads DAP and PKR, Chong Eng and Zuraida Kamaruddin.

Siti Zailah ( right ) told PAS mouthpiece Harakahdaily that she did not manage to refine the statement before it was released.

“The statement was released without me having managed to refine it, nor sign it.

“In fact, the Dewan Harian Muslimat also decided to postpone releasing the statement since it (the statement) carried a different meaning.”

Admitting that she did express her support for Wan Azizah, Siti Zailah said however that her support was based on her party’s decision, which also nominated PKR deputy president Azmin Ali’, apart from Wan Azizah, as menteri besar.

She expressed disappointment with the release of the statement and also reprimanded Wanita Pakatan  Rakyat for releasing the statement without her signature.

“I don’t want to argue. Only Allah knows what’s inside my heart,” she said.

Wanita Pakatan Rakyat released the statement yesterday, expressing their unconditional support for Wan Azizah.
