Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has not issued any decree regarding PKR and DAP's apology for not submitting more than one name for the Selangor menteri besar post.

His private secretary Mohamad Munir Bani ( left ) told Berita Harian that the sultan has not issued any directives on whether to hold discussions following the apology.

"Maybe he will call for discussions soon," he said.

PKR and DAP sent an apology letter to the Selangor palace on Tuesday, after the sultan reprimanded them for being insolent and defiant.

Meanwhile, the New Straits Times quoted party insiders as saying that PKR might push its deputy president Azmin Ali, who is also Bukit Antarabangsa asssemblyperson, as its primary candidate to replace Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as menteri besar.

The daily said feelers had been sent to the Selangor palace and feedbacks were positive.

NST cited Azmin as the best choice to help resolve the strained ties between PKR, DAP and the palace.

"Wan Azizah's marital ties with (party de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim had turned off the palace.

"There is no way now for PKR to pursue a single nomination for her as MB," the source added.
