The rumble in PAS continues over the menteri besar crisis, with a Youth leader suggesting that vice-president Husam Musa and his friends in the central committee should resign.

Sekijang PAS Youth chief Shazni Munir Mohd Ithnin ( right ) said it is common knowledge that Husam and his friends are unhappy with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's actions.

"If Husam feels the president is no longer qualified to lead the party, then he should table a motion of no confidence against him.

"But if he thinks that he will not be able to get enough support, then he and friends should resign to make a stand.

"Perhaps many PAS members will welcome such a move," he added.

However, he said if they refrain from doing both and choose to behave like "termites which eat from within", then it is better for them to just agree with Hadi.

'Party for the brave'

He stressed that PAS is a party for the brave and there is no place for cowards.

"PAS needs a new organisational environment. If Husam and his friends believe that they are better than the president, they should prove what they believe in," he said.

 

He said that if Husam and those aligned to him are trying to "silently influence" other to reject the party president, it would be an "undignified" act.

 

Abdul Hadi's decision to override the central committee and submit a PAS name to the Selangor palace for consideration for the MB post has divided PAS, worsening frictions that had already begun to show before Hadi's controversial move.

 

Shazni's criticism comes hot on the heels of the PAS' legal arm and a party-linked lawyer criticising and defending the syura in turn following its alleged meddling and backing for Hadi in the MB crisis.
