Umno-owned daily Utusan Malaysia is again in trouble with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

Lim has decided to sue the Malay-language daily for linking him to the 34-hour mammoth rally organised in Kuala Lumpur last weekend by election reform movement Bersih.

Ten of thousands of yellow T-shirt protesters took to the streets in support of Bersih's demands, which included urging Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to resign over the alleged 1MDB scandal and for the RM2.6 billion donation in his private bank accounts.

Lim had attended the rally too and presented speeches along with other opposition leaders.

He wore a yellow T-shirt, but it did not carry the Bersih theme which the Home Ministry had outlawed the day before the rally.

"The report on the front page of Utusan today has smeared my name," Lim said at a press conference in Komtar today.

"The paper wants to find trouble with me again. This is too much as I am not the organiser of the rally," said Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general.

Lim sees as offensive Utusan 's frontpage report today, which carried pictures of him and his father, Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang, and other Bersih leaders, including its chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah, former co-chair Ambiga Sreenivasan and Gerakan Harapan Baru chief Mohamed Sabu.

Headlined ' Malulah Kamu !' (Shame on you), the paper accused the rally as a front to promote anti-national values.
