Cops summon Tian Chua over Bersih 4
PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang, better known as Tian Chua, is the latest to be summoned by the police over the recent Bersih 4 rally.
"I just received police's message for me to attend Dang Wangi district police station at 3pm today, to assist investigation related to Bersih 4 rally," tweeted Chua today.
The investigating officer, Sgt Dennis, contacted him to assist in the investigation, Chua told Malaysiakini .
However, he is in the dark about the possible offences he had committed.
"He did not tell me under which provision I am being invstigated," Chua said.
According to the Batu parliamentarian, the police officer tried to contact him last night but he did not pick up the phone.
Earlier, Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah and six others were summoned by the police.
The others called for questioning were Bersih deputy chairperson Sarajun Hoda Abdul Hassan, treasurer Masjaliza Hamzah, steering committee members Farhana Abdul Halim and Fadiah Nadwa Fikri, and secretariat members Mandeep Singh and Adam Adli Abdul Halim.
Dr M also under investigation
Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is being also investigated by the police for the speech he made during the second day of the Bersih 4 rally.
"(Is) @PDRMsia under pressure to witch-hunt? " Chua tweeted.
PKR had mobilised its members and leaders to take part in the Bersih 4 rally on Aug 29 and 30. Chua appeared at the Sogo gathering point and later marched to Dataran Merdeka.
He was the one to received Mahathir when the former prime minister showed up for the rally on the evening of Aug 2829 at Dataran Merdeka.
The 34-hour rally was held to pressure Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to step down over the controversy of RM2.6 billion placed in his personal bank accounts, said to be a donation from someone from the Middle East.
The authorities haved vowed action would be taken after the rally, which was declared illegal.
