Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin claimed ignorance when asked if he was one of the seven Umno leaders said to be under investigation by the party.

He refused to comment on speculation that he faces suspension, saying he was not aware of any decision the party was about to take on him.

"I don't know anything about it. I just read about it in the papers," he said at the Parliament cafe today when asked if he was prepared for what Umno may have in store for him.

Last month, when Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was asked why no action had been taken against former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, he revealed that seven Umno leaders were under observation .

He added that their suspension was a possibility as the party was 'sick and tired' of them.
