Maria gives Jamal 48 hours to apologise over alleged IS link

Mushiro: Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos' remarks that the Islamic State (IS) operatives have infiltrated Bersih is calculated to get the authorities to disallow the Bersih 5 rally.

The police’s reaction to this will prove my theory or otherwise. It seems to me that Jamal can say or do anything he wants to disrupt, frustrate and defame the Bersih 5 rally.

Nil: This is a very serious matter concerning national security. Jamal should have concrete proof and should have already reported this to the relevant authorities. Otherwise, it is considered as a rumour.

In this case is a leader who might be trying to be a hero to gain a position in the government. He has made a very serious accusation against someone, and this can affect the peace of the country, if it is true.

He should by now report the facts to the police if he had the evidence. Hiding serious evidence that affect the peace of the country is detrimental to the people. What is he waiting for?

Anak JB: Are we ruled by law or ruled by thuggerism and gangsterism? How can this man go around harassing people who has the right to exercise their rights and freedom to protest?

Protest if you may, but not harass others who are expressing their opinion peacefully. You are such a disgrace.

The Analyser: Had Maria ignored this fool (which she should have done), he would have been left looking like a stupid idiot and she would have gained kudos by being above gutter politics.

Instead she has managed to give Jamal's stupidity some credibility and condemned herself to being another insecure woman easily distracted from the goal by a petty insult from a petty insulter.

Do you really think that Teresa May got to be PM of the UK by bursting into tears every time someone said anything nasty about her? Did Bill Clinton run to the courts every time someone said anything negative about Hillary? Of course, they didn't.

But small-minded, easily distracted and massively insecure people take offence at everything, real or imagined. They waste endless time and unlimited amounts of money to ensure that their poor fragile egos 'appear' to be intact

Any police report made against people who are not aligned with the ruling elite, will get a visit by a band of police at odd hours, handcuffed and taken for a drive.

Obviously she wants to avoid such a situation. Is that too much to ask, Mr Analyser?

Not Convinced: Should Maria ignore this fool? No. This is yet another chance for Malaysians to expose the double standards of our authorities.

Perhaps Teresa May and Bill Clinton could close one eye on such accusations as the UK and US have rule of law. There is no such thing in Malaysia.

FellowMalaysian: Since the police are seemingly 'powerless' in apprehending this 'samseng' (thug) who obviously is endowed with special providence and immunity, the other option is to take him to court.

Maria, I salute you for your courage in bringing some semblance of justice to this man who has romp and terrorise the streets far too long and with utter impunity.

CQ Muar: Inspector-general of police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar must step up and show Jamal who is the authority in this country, failing which the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) will be seen as redundant and powerless.

His behaviour is loathsome, shameful, and disgusting, to say the least.

Kangkung: This thug won't give a hoot to the letter of demand as he is from Umno so he can do as he likes. He is above all the law.

Politician: We have so many home grown comedians these days. Each specialising in different fields. Some with tweets, some love taking violence and candid acts to the streets, many do it in Parliament, some even overseas, but much of their performances are in home ground.

The law refuses to act against these people who bring shame to the nation by condoning wrongdoings but they act very fast against those who oppose wrongdoings. I wonder which deed the police support?

But I am sure the police are supposed to protect the nation's interest, its people and their rights. They are supposed to round up the crooks and imprison them.

It is only here in Malaysia that the whistleblower never gets protection. Strange laws we have here.

Anonymous #03815719: PDRM should investigate to the bottom of it as alleged by Jamal before taking action.

If there is evidence, the culprits must be arrested if not Jamal should be arrested and charged to the highest order. He should not be made to go scot free.

Doc: Tomorrow Jamal will make another police report stating that Bersih is linked to the Israeli government who wants to use Bersih to overthrow the Umno government and enslave the Malays.

Like I said before; in Umno, stupidity has no bounds.
